We’re looking for an Assistant Buyer

Pict Offshore is a young and growing company providing access and material lifting systems to the offshore wind sector.   We are a Joint venture with Ørsted –  the global leader in offshore wind.   Having successfully deployed our GUS150 products to the Hornsea 2 windfarm in the North Sea we are expanding our operation to fulfil further orders and need smart, energetic and motivated people to join our team.

Assistant Buyer

Job Description:
We are looking for a capable Assistant Buyer to assist our Supply Chain Manager with the day-to-day tasks associated with procurement, purchasing administration and shipment of goods. As a small company the role needs someone who can handle a wide range of tasks, is a fast learner and willing to take on additional responsibilities.  This is a full time role for a fixed term to end of June 2023, however there may be the opportunity to extend. 

Main Duties:
  • Placing and expediting Purchase Orders
  • Pulling kits of material to send to subcontractors
  • Archiving delivery paperwork
  • Updating due dates for receipts 
  • Communicating delivery requirements to sub-contractors
  • Arranging shipments of goods
  • Receipting goods
  • Assisting with ECO implementation/point of embodiment
  • Inventory control/stock counts/system transactions 
  • General office administration e.g. answering calls/taking deliveries

Essential Candidate Requirements:​
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role
  • Excellent IT skills with detailed knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Fast learner
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong team player with "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
  • Permit to work in the UK

Advantageous knowledge/experience
  • Previous experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics Navision or other ERP systems

What you can Expect in Return:
  • This is a full time role, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Fixed term to end of June 2023, may be an option to extend
  • Salary of £20,000-£22,000 per annum commensurate with experience
  • Workplace pension scheme and life assurance cover
  • 33 days annual leave pro rata (inclusive of public holidays)
  • Day off on your birthday​
  • Based in Inverkeithing, Fife
