Main Duties:
- Control system design and implementation
- Development, testing and verification of PLC and HMI software including safety related software
- Research and development of new features and concepts for a range of electrically driven, motion compensated offshore hoists
- Engaging with suppliers of existing or new components for the Company's products
- Explore ways to cost reduce systems through alternative component sourcing or architecture redesign
- Contribute to new product features and overall concept development
- OT security solution design and implementation
- Software documentation authoring and review
- Technical report writing
- Leading or supporting testing and commissioning of systems
- Participating in Design Reviews.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
- Experience with Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal)
- A minimum of five years in a similar, highly technical role
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline to BSc level or above
- Knowledge of essential documentation for the PLM (SDS< FDS, IO lists etc.)
- Knowledge of fail-safe control system design
- Knowledge of functional safety requirements under ISO 13849
- Skilled in reading electrical diagrams
- Networking knowledge (ProfiNET, Modbus TCP, SNMP, etc)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- A team player with “can-do” attitude
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
- Clean driving license and permit to work in the UK
Advantageous Knowledge/Experience:
- Additional PLC programming experience will be a benefit (e.g. Omron or similar)
- Membership of a professional association e.g. TUV
- Knowledge of cyber-security/OT security requirements in control systems
- Knowledge of the offshore wind industry
- Skilled in generating electrical diagrams
- Experience of motor-driven motion systems
- Systems integration experience
- Product Certification
- Generation of Risk Assessments
What you can Expect in Return:
- Salary £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
